Jewellery by Waihonga

Local Ngāpuhi designer Ambrosia Crum creates beautiful taonga from her home in Okaihau, here in the Far North. Buying local and supporting small pākihi helps our whānau and communities to thrive. Read more of Ambrosia's story below.

  • huatau . our big idea

Our vision is to create taonga to adorn and enrich our kāinga with expressions of te ao Māori to nourish the desire to connect, celebrate and express our own cultural identity.

  • ngā taonga . our products

We create art prints, enamel pins, jewellery, stickers and woven patches. It is the notion of creating beautiful taonga that guides the dreams of Waihonga.

  • whakaingoā . choosing a name

In te reo Māori, Waihonga means nectar - the sweet, sugary juice of a plant which attracts insects or birds to pollinate the flower. It's also a loose translation of my name Ambrosia.
